"I'm painting it while it's still here"
The birds and plants of the Rio Grande Valley

In 1994, Gerald Sneed moved to the Rio Grande Valley after an award-winning career in New York as an advertising art director. Mr. Sneed relocated to the area to observe and paint the abundant birds and wildlife available in the National Wildlife Refuges and State Parks there.

What began as a post-career "walk in the park" has now become a whole new business.

Mr. Sneed's work is now sought out by residents and visitors to this top nature and birding destination. It has been exhibited and sold as posters, designer T-shirts, tote bags, coffee mugs, etc. His paintings have been purchased and commissioned by, among others, the McAllen, Weslaco and Harlingen Chambers of Commerce and the American Birding Association and International Migratory Bird Day. Mr. Sneed regularly exhibits at The Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival and the Texas Tropics Nature Festival in McAllen, annual events that draw birders and nature enthusiasts from around the world.
